About me
As your current North Marin Water District Director (District 1) and as a Professional Engineer, I deeply value the public infrastructure entrusted to us. Also, as a dedicated public servant for the last part of my career, I am committed to improving our water service for generations to come. I see the importance for public service, and all it brings for the vitality for our communities. Water is Life!
I have more than 40 years of technical engineering expertise with water systems as well as utility systems, roadways, environmental clean-ups and civil infrastructure. I am well-versed in taking projects from initial evaluation and planning, through design, and ultimately into final construction. Important water related projects I have worked on include East Bay Municipal Utility District’s (EBMUD) $200 million Seismic Improvement Program (SIP) that made major progress to increase the seismic reliability of the region’s water supply; and, the San Francisco Public Utility District’s Water System Improvement Program (WSIP), a $4.8 billion-dollar, multiyear capital program to repair, replace, and seismically upgrade crucial portions of the Hetch Hetchy Regional Water System.
I retired as the Traffic Engineer for the City of Petaluma. Previously, I worked for Harding Lawson Associates (Novato), URS/AECOM (SF), and was the General Manager for a small water company on the coast. My wife and I own a West Marin business. My committee work includes:
Board Member (former), West Marin Chamber of Commerce
Olema Valley Association Lead (part of the Alliance of Coastal Marin Villages)
KWMR Programmer and Volunteer
